 Annabelle started kindergarten the first week of September. The best part of day one was when they got to watch TV because the music teacher called in sick. Her favorite special class in school is helping out in the school garden because "she gets to eat more". She's learned a lot of valuable lessons at public school so far. For instance, if you lick the bottoms of your feet you get better traction climbing up the slide. There are lots of aspects of public school that seem similar to a prison yard at first glance, but somehow it works ands she loves school so much that she plays kindergarten with her stuffies on her weekends off.

I formally quit my job the same day Annabelle started school upping my status to trophy wife. So far so good. I'm not eating government cheese yet, but have the van ready with a nice spot by the river picked out if it comes to that. I've been volunteering in art class at Annabelle's school and working on building our project. I have aspirations to goof off more when I'm not putting so much time into the build and Annabelle, so possibly in 18 years.

 I'm considering starting a new side gig as a sexy Tyvek suit model. I heard how horrible putting in fiberglass insulation batts was, so I bought this Tyvek suit in the lingerie section at Home Depot. The first thing I did was put it on, bend over and blow out the crotch. So I wore a crotchless tyvek suit  while insulating. Jamming out to Miley Cyrus on Pandora, I was most likely the happiest insulating mother fucker known to man kind. Our building is insulated to the point that it now looks like one of those foam soft sided promotional beer coolers. But one that is ready for drywall and siding.   

Our building is looking amazing. We've been following the trendy architectural style "Rectangulay" religiously. Brandon has literally put a roof over our heads, complete with windows and we recently cancelled our open door policy (by putting in doors.). It also has other trendy modern architectual features like steps and lights. Coming soon: siding and drywall.

Life was getting too easy.  Things were getting almost complacent. With Annabelle starting kindergarten soon, we stepped back to think about where we want to be for the next several years.  Not sure how many years, but from at least Kindergarten -through- as long as she makes it before robots take over  the public education system.   Anyways, we decided we want more skiing in our lives and we should move to Winthrop, WA. Houses are expensive, even fixer-uppers, you can pay over 1/2 million dollars for a turd of a house.  With our waning enthusiasm for polishing all the turds in our lives, we decided to just take a stab at building our own house. Framing 101 and our First Massive Erection

I thought I’d give all our friends, family and esteemed followers an update on our first massive erection. Our concrete is poured it’s time to buy some tool belts and learn to frame!   So, we took a week off work and headed over the mountains to start assembling walls on our two story garage with apartment ontop project. Fueled by excitement and the necessity to get to the lumberyard before they closed Brandon drove feverishly around the bends and curves of the mountains passes. Annabelle happily played and chirped around in the back of the van… until she started making some funky bodily noises and frantically pointed at her mouth. Like a seasoned parent I sprung into action and grabbed the first vessel I could find… my coffee mug.. filled with a few inches of coffee in the bottom. I like flat slabs and I cannot lie

 We’ve had two concrete trucks out on our property and have been foundationing so hard. As a concrete truck virgin I didn’t   know much about concrete other than it takes sidewalk chalk pretty well.   So I   googled some shit about it so I wouldn’t   appear ignorant when the first truck showed up.  Key points, refer to concrete as mud and talk about how it slumps. When the truck gets there let the driver know you want to look at the mud then say , "yeah that mud looks a little dry. I want more slump." That pretty much sums it up. That and you need help. Luckily, we have some pretty reliable friends that have been willing to come help us and have made some new ones. The night before our first concrete truck it was just Brandon, Annabelle and myself.
